Richard Sullivan has 30 years of a unique combination of policy, legislative and political experience before federal and state governmental entities. He has served in various leadership roles in the Democratic Party and has successfully led federal and state legislative initiatives on technology, financial services, healthcare and energy related issues.

Sullivan’s career portfolio includes having served as counsel to the Majority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives; as national finance director for the Democratic National Committee and President Clinton’s re-election campaign; and as national fundraising director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).

Additionally, he has served at the highest level of volunteer leadership positions in the Democratic Party, including as the national Treasurer and Finance Chairman for the Democratic Governors Association (DGA); Finance Chairman for the DSCC; Finance Chair of the DSCC’s 2000 National Convention and Finance Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).

Sullivan has also worked as a senior advisor or finance chair for several national presidential election bids who has led national record-breaking fundraising efforts at all four major Democratic Party Committees (DNC, DSCC, DCCC and DGA).

Founding partner with State Federal Strategies, Sullivan received a B.A. with honors from the University of South Carolina in government affairs and economics and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
