For more than 30 years, Harold Gist has developed and implemented successful campaigns at the national, state, and local levels, including presidential, gubernatorial, congressional, legislative, mayoral and ballot initiatives. He worked as Senior Advisor to the DNC Chairman, White House Liaison, Director of African American Outreach Strategies, Political Division and Community Services Division.

Gist’s dynamic career has seen extensive experience and exposure to political campaigns: he served as Strategic Advisor to Halter for Lt. Governor Campaign ‘06; Deputy Campaign Manager for Clinton/Gore ’92 Presidential Campaign; Associate Deputy Campaign Manager for Clinton/Gore ’96; Arkansas Field Director for the Dukakis/Bentsen ’88 Campaign for President; and as Arkansas Field Director with Al Gore for President ‘88 campaign.

In the late 80s he co-founded a group of highly skilled individuals fondly referred to as the “Buffalo Soldiers” who were instrumental in a number of successful campaigns including Philadelphia Mayor John Street, Virginia Governor Mark Warner, U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA), U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-AR), and President Bill Clinton, among others.

Gist was a senior advisor with Hillary Clinton for President ’08, Obama for America ‘08 (OFA) campaign, and Hillary for America and the Democratic National Committee; assisted with developing, coordinating and executing NAACP’s “Journey for Justice” 1000+ miles national march; was a general consultant/senior adviser to mayoral candidates in Washington, DC; coordinated petition gathering in several Washington, D.C. races and in the state of Virginia; and served as floor manager for the 2016 Democratic National Convention.
